MADELIA  : Talent in héritage!

Welcome to a house that loves combining talents to express the best of decoration.

In showroom in the heart of Paris, Jean-Claude Mahey has invented a design style influenced by his childhood in a family of painters and decorators originating from Mayenne, which is home to so many mansions and small châteaux. After studying Applied Arts in Paris, Jean-Claude Mahey founded his own design company in 1966, launching his first collection of contemporary furniture ten years later. Working closely with Jean-Claude, his wife Betty Mahey presented the collection, which was a great success.

Produced by his own workshops and factories, the collection was soon distributed nationwide and then throughout the world. Using elegant materials such as lacquer, rich burr woods, marble and copper, the collection has been sold equally in Tokyo, New York, Beverly Hills and in Africa and the Persian Gulf countries. Building on his success and his dynamism, Jean-Claude Mahey opened the current Madélia showroom, covering nearly 1,000 m², in the 16th arrondissement of Paris in 1992.

Faithful to the family spirit, his children Cécilia and Maxence have used their talent to bring together a selection of the most beautiful furniture, lighting, designer fabrics, wallpapers with sought-after inlays, carpets, rugs and decorative objects in the showroom, not to mention high-quality leathers and skins, marble and stone, for the pleasure of delighting their customers. The exceptional service ranges from designing and planning your projects to creating your interiors, carrying out the decorating work and monitoring its progress.

MAXENCE MAHEY STRIVES TO OPTIMISE FUNCTIONAL, DISCREET LAYOUTS
“Wall hangings and curtains are the decisive touch in the decoration of Parisian apartments, which are often dark – a gentle sophistication allied with glossier materials,” explains Cécilia. Much of the furniture and lighting comes from France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, not forgetting the creations of Jean-Claude Mahey himself, which harmonise with contemporary design mixed with classic touches. A passionate artist, he continues to design personalised interiors for a demanding clientèle who want an elegantly customised apartment or house, either in France or abroad. With expertise and experience, in perpetual quest for exceptional quality in the service of beauty and the joy of living, the Madelia family team incarnates a unique spirit, always ready to listen to your projects and guide you subtly in your choices.
